Victorian poet Alfred Lord Tennyson suggests in his literary classic Ulysses that each person is created unique through their own particular set of experiences. For me experiences are situated in contexts and environments, so that we cannot separate the human existence from his or her context. German philosopher Heidegger used the word Dasein to describe this fact that ‘man is a place-being, not a being in a place.’
